For the 2026 summer festival of Rathaus für Kultur, I initiated a new format with the title «FM96.20 Wunschkonzert». FM96.20 referrs to the area code of Lichtensteig - 9620.

The idea was to have a larger communication campaign prior to the festival as a participatory component of the format: we asked the local community to share with us songs they were currently listening to. In the form of song links or voice messages talking about the songs, they provided us with a broad range of musical material and also shared personal anecdotes connected to the songs.

We chose four songs and invited four local music groups to join together to interpret/cover these songs in extended versions and merge all four songs into one live performance. The idea was to build bridges between the styles and audiences of the groups: Rond Om De Säntis (a traditional folk/jodel group), Maltschik (a young funk band from the region), Claude Bühler (an experimental musician working with modular synths), and DJ Real Marid (a multi-instrumentalist) all brought their distinct styles, voices, and audiences to the performance.

The audience was invited to stand in the middle of it all and switch their stance and position after each contribution, which made it an immersive experience. It started with Rond Om De Säntis beginning the performance offstage and walking into the audience area while performing. The audience was curious to find out whether their song had been chosen to be interpreted live, so they were part of the format from the very beginning.
