We want to make female composers visible. The student organization of the musicology department of the university and the collective F96 jointly planned the project "Musikmeisterinnen" in the early summer of 2021. 

We want to make female composers more visible and audible by means of a newly conceived and designed poster - because classical music in particular is still very much dominated by men. When they hear the term “classical music”, most people immediately think of Mozart, Bach, Haydn, Beethoven, etc. – but what about the female composers, where and how are they portrayed?

With our poster and concert project, we want to do just that: to focus on female composers. And not just once, but sustainably.

It is about supplementing and questioning centuries-old conventions in (classical) music history.
